M6 Trunk Switch Question

For you M6 guys, can you pop the rear hatch while you are driving, or is it similar to the reverse lockout where you lose that ability above a certain speed.

Thanks!

Thanks guys! When I converted my Impala to M6, I ran into a problem with the trunk not working since I had to disconnect the wires so the ECU thought it was in drive for the right tables. Another guy and I were discussing this earlier, and my great idea was to just hook it up the the reverse lockout wire from the ECU. Figured I wanted to do what was "Correct." I still might run a relay and run the reverse solenoid and trunk on that, so I'm not running all the amperage through the ECU when I pop the trunk. I'd probably get away with it without the relay, but for a $50 ECU, I'll buy the $3 relay.

I don't know what the wiring would be like on an Impala, but after doing the A4 --> M6 swap on my Z28, there are 6 wires connected to the auto shifter, 2 of which being for the hatch release. Splice them together, and the hatch works at all times, all speeds, no e-brake set (basically, according to A4 "logic", it's in Park or Neutral at all times! ).
