LT1 vs. LS1

jus wondering what it would take for an LT1 to beat a LS1. I know thats kind of an open question, but i guess im asking for myself more than anyting else. i have a 96 that im rebuilding. here is a list of mods.
rebuilt heads with 3 angle valve job and supporting springs for cam. (no porting)
CCA-07-465 --- 210@ .560/ 218@ .550 (1.5RR)--- 113 LSA --- 1200-5200 (thanks for the cam recommendation gator)
Corvette C5 wheels and tires
Long Tube headers NO air or EGR
CAI
Catback exhaust
Underdrive pulley
completely rebuilt A4 trans, stock stall, stock gears. (might change gears soon but probably not stall bc its my dd.)
will possibly buy suspension mods, as of now i have no idea what my car will do so im going to wait and see.

I really have no idea what these cars will run. my car had a blown head gasket when i bought it so i have no clue how fast they are. my cousin had a stock firbird with the LS1 in it and i know it woud fly. i already started this thread on Z28.com i jus wanted to see peoples thoughts here.

That should be enough to beat an average stock LS1, assuming equal drivers.

Wait, um, I mean...

THE LS1 CAN NEVER LOSE! IT WAS CREATED BY GOD!!!

Your build will rape a stock ls1... but why such a baby cam if you are doing all this work?

But before people start in with the usual drama; mod for mod - the ls1 always wins.

True, assuming equal drivers and available traction.

i am with you, why such a baby cam?

i raced a guy with a hotcam and full bolt lt1 that beat me but i am stock, so with what you have in the list you should have no problem taking a stock ls1.
yes usually mod for mod ls1's turn out faster but driver for driver is never the same so yes driver may make all the difference.

i agree the LS1's ar bad to the bone. and that cam is kind of small but its my DD and for its size that cam put down some really good number especially in the torque area.

Speaking from experience, you are going to need more then that to beat an LS1, cause Generally most LS cars will have at least a Lid and a Catback.
I've run two seperate Hotcamed LT1's both had LT's and good catbacks one was a M6 w/4.10's the other an auto w/3.42's. They were close but I had each of them by a car length at 100+ mph. My car is just a 130K mile DD Lid and Catback LS1 M6.
Gears will help you but even a mild stall would be better. JMO

If the question is to beat a stock LS1, A full bolt on LT1 should come close.

Yeah- LT1's are good engines, no doubt- but how many bone-stock LS1's are left on the street? Not many- almost any one you see is 7,8, 9 year old and probably has at least a lid and exhaust- maybe more-

Just makes the bar a little higher, not saying you can't beat 'em-

Well im gettin a gears shortly and a maybe a stall a few weeks after that but i figured with the list in the first post, the shorter the race the better for me. LT1's have really good torque and that cam helps alot. i know running on the highway from a 60mph start i wouldnt stand a chance, but of the line i got it. especially with a few suspension mods coming in.

You can do it, don't be afraid of a roll race.

Cams

Most lt1 guys recommend the comp cam 503 or 305.You might have been better to run your stk.cam w/some 1.6 r/r at first and then later decide on a cam and heads. Also a stall is great mod but don,t go too high(3000 tops)as the lt1 does have great bottom end tq.

I guess the duration is less than the 503, but it has way more lift than the 503.
