Question lt1 Vette vs. ls1 cam/bird (with a twist)

I know the ls1 vs. lt1 has been done over and over and over - but this is different than most the threads ive found - so i jus started a new one - im new to the site so if this is bad im sorry - but this is my situation: i want the BEST all around performer for the 12,000 i have... i mean i want the most reliable, fastest, best handling, accel & top spd, (comfort doesnt really matter too much - i've had an lt1 vette b4 - i thought it was comfy...?)... i have 12k cash... i need a car with under 75k... (im mostly looking at a 95-94 LT1 6spd vette, and a z28 99 camaro currently) and i plan to mod but itll be a while - i want the most bang for my buck - with all these factors included... the thread i read only seemed to consider 1/4 times... i want opinions considering everything.. which will feel better doing 120 on a curvey road, etc... - all opinions appreciated.. i already know the power for the engines and stock 1/4 times... this is just wanting oppinions of ppl who've owned and driven these cars.. and actually factoring in the "fun factor" and handling.. thanks...

id say the vettes gonna love the road more.. but u can make the bird or z28 do it to for some money but it will never match the vette

lt1's have more low end torque... you probably do 0-60 more in everyday driving than 60-100...

0-60 u may be right - but around here theres alot of roads deserted late at nite - and some of the most fun u can have is driving along the curvey roads at 100+ - theres not a track within any resonable distance from me so its all i got - so which one would you all suggest offers the best power/handling combo?

Power - LS1
Handling - 'Vette

Depending what mods you're willing to do down the road, you could change that either way. Chances are though, it's easier to make an LT1 'Vette as fast as an LS1 than it is to make an F-body handle like a 'Vette. So you have to decide what's more important to you?

Honestly, if you can find a nice LT1 'Vette I think that's what you should get...Either one will be fast and with a few mods you can have that LT1 puttin' out just as much power as an LS1...I think if you went with the LS1 'maro the difference you'd have to make up in handling would be greater than the power deficit you'd be dealing with if you went with the 'Vette...

Well after having listend.. im pretty decided on the vette... however finding one in great shape will be hard - but thanks for ur opinions - the prior posts lead me to believe the vette would be best for my driving in the long run, as i couldnt afford to make a camaro handle like a vette... but i should be able to do the other... thanks

well vettes are nice, but i would suggest getting the camaro, because u can get a real nice ls1 camaro for 10k, and with the extra 2k u can do lots of suspension work to make it handle just as well as the vette. but the vette is the nicer car stock. so if u are tryin to keep it stock with the performance... go with the vetter. if u just want what u can get with the money go ls1 with mods.
