LT1/LS1 Lifters

Does anybody know if stock GM lifter's are the same in an LS1 and an LT1. I have a friend needing some lifter's, and found a set locally for some LS1 lifter's, and was wondering if they are the same or not. I have heard that most SB chevy lifter's from 87-00 are the same. We are wanting to do it this weekend, so if naybody knows, please answer. Thanks.

Re: LT1/LS1 Lifters

Some LS1 lifters are cutaway types, at least stock replacement are. Cutaway are generally worse because of a higher stress area on the roller trunion. All LS1 builds I do have the LT1 part numbered lifter in them.

But, yes, they are the same despite the fact the LS1 lifters retail for WAY more.
