LS1 front grill

Does the front grill on the ls1s just snap off from the front or do you need to get to the back or use a tool?

Doesn't belong in an "Engine" tech forum. Moving to General Tech.

Re: LS1 front grill

Well I dunno about the ss grills but if its just the regular one yeah it just pulls off. Least thats how I got mine off without breaking it I mean its gonna take some pulling to get it off but mine came off fine and nothing broke.

Re: LS1 front grill

I guess if you pull hard enough on any body panel it will come off . The safest way, without risking breaking something, is to remove the bumper cover and remove the fasteners that hold the grill on. I had my bumper cover off for painting and decided to put a bowtie grill on while it was off. I can't see how you can just pull the grill off, with the type of fasteners that they have holding it on, without breaking something.

Re: LS1 front grill

JoeMack is right you cant possibly pull it off without destroying something. Those little press metal nuts really bite into the plastic. (3 ea) The ONLY way to remove it without killing it is pull the cover and remove the 3 nuts holding the top of the grill.

Re: LS1 front grill

You can try what I did: I pulled off the top 3 tabs and the 2 side ones, those are easy. Then I tried to pull the bottom 3, but they didn't want to come out easy, so I just cut them. Just bend the grill, so you can get to the plastic going into the bumper and cut each one. I found it easier to cut the left and right ones first, then the middle one.

The only bad thing about doing this, is that if you ever want to put it on, it won't be too secure, it won't fall off by itself though, unless you pull on it.
