I have checked the level and even bleed the bleeder 'thingy'....even filled the overflow and then the first time i drive it some of that ended up on the ground....so it is not low. time for new senser or am I missing something else?

Re: low coolant light

You have three options here:
1. new sensor
2. try cleaning your current sensor with a tooth brush and see if that fixes it.
3. Just unplug it from the little black box on the radiator next to the battery.

Mine did the same thing a while back. Got a new sensor from Gmpartsdirect and now light is off. I did not try to clean the sensor before I replaced it, but the sensor is only about $35 I believe.

Re: low coolant light

Just unplug it. They are notorious for failing and giving false readings. If you unplug it, it will not set a trouble code.

Re: low coolant light

I unplugged mine abou 2 weeks ago. I figured that if I was going to spend $35 on a new sensor, it would have to be a LT4 KM. Having a functional low coolant light isn't too much of a priority for me.

Re: low coolant light

I am having the same problem with my 95 TA. Where is the sensor located at on my car? I want to try and clean it before I just unplug it.

I happened to be at Autozone today, and checked the price: $60.00!!! Forget that. I can just check the level manually!

They get dirty and send off false signals. You don't need to worry since the low coolant sensor doesn't go to the PCM it only shows the light on the dash. I wouldnt spend the $35 if cleaning it didn't help and just disconnect it if i were you.

Call Jason Cromer. I think I paid something like $20-$30 for mine.
