Look at my driveshaft, Pics inside

I was at the local drags today and I was on my best run by far when I slammed 4th gear and heard the driveshaft rip . It bent up my exhaust and torque arm and put a scrape in my floor pan . I am lucky since I was doing over a 100mph when it happened . Go to link to see pics.

That part was SO annoying for me, i'm glad I finally programmed it. A little more pricey for you though....

Bummer dude. We had a similar thing happen about 3 or 4 weeks ago with my Dad's '73...

...except the car never left the line! Right at the lights, gave it gas, dumped the clutch and "bang!" Blew both U-joints, and f##ked the tranny all in a split second! The car never even moved forward enough to break the beam and start the time clock! We're now considering a manual --> auto swap!

Maybe instead you should consider a better shaft. Especialy if your running alum. I am actualy ordering mine tomarrow. Ever since my Moser 12 bolt install the length of the stocker was, uncomfortable. Now since I installed the sway bar relocation kit to get the rear sitting right I have only 1/4 inch of slip travel which is more then bad. So I am ordering a 3inch steel "nitrous ready" shaft from http://www.dennysdriveshaft.com

If you break it, They give you a new one.

I am going to get the spohn t/a with the D/S loop since the driveshaft beat it up some and the exhaust is beat up. The floor pan luckily only got a scratch so i am happy about that I guess.

The fuel door is off a newer eclipse, I got it off ebay awhile ago. It fits right in with no mods to the fuel door hole.

that's why they make DS loops required for 13.99 or quicker by NHRA rules. At that speed the DS could have flipped you on to the sunny side....that would be a bad thing.

Chris

BTW not a fan on the door....just me

Re: Look at my driveshaft, Pics inside

Yes I know I am lucky it broke in the back, it could have been alot worse. I am going to make sure if it happens again, hopefully not, that I have a d/s loop.

That is the fuel door, and mine is being anodised black this winter. I wanted to do it last winter but did not have the time to get it done.

The six speed swap was not that bad. I did it myself with the help of some friends, especially one that is a gm tech that has a 6 speed, he helped a ton on it. I highly reccomend it.

I know there are alot of mixed reviews on my fuel door, but 90% of people that see it in person like it more than in pictures. With the LG motorsports wing on my car, it looks a ton better.

Thanks
