well the clearance varies depending on what brand of longtube you choose. offhand i recall pacestter having one of the best ground clearnaces. i have pacestters on my car and theres plently of room, but my cars not lowered. i think 2 inches is starting to push it, and more and you might be limited to mid legnths but i could be wrong

I wouldn't drop your car at all if you install LTs.

The reason is because ......................

I hit a big object in the highway and now my passenger side unibody it smashed up and thank god the door closes good. Either drop it if it helps or put a body kit on it or bondo or even a new panel. I don't have a welder.

Wait... What?

If you bashed up the rocker panel, lowering the car will not help with that at all.

So the actual body is messed up? Get that fixed.

That said, my Kooks tuck up very nicely and my y-pipe still occasionally scrapes speed bumps at stock height. I wouldn't drop it at all.

I think it would be cheaper if I lower it then fix the panel you can't see it unless its parked on a hill or if you bend down. they would have to take the door off and pull it out and out a new panel and im guessing $2000 but for now all I can afford is to lower it or bondo.

At stock ride height, I have a little less than a soda can distance from the headers to the pavement. Factor in a two inch drop on top of that and you can get a visual idea of what kind of clearance you are dealing with. People have done it, but you definitely have to mind your surroundings, otherwise you will be dragging and banging your exhaust real quick.

I had a similar issue with my wife's Civic Si. They had to remove the door, the side window, and cut out the rocker panel piece that actually stretched from the front of the door to the back wheel, then paint the whole side of the car from the door backwards. It was a $3.5K job.
