Long term storage (2+ years), what should be considered?

Due to the military I will be away from my Z in my sig for the next 2 years . I already ran fuel stabilizer in it, have disconnected the battery, it is up on jack stands with a car cover over it, and have a couple open containers of baking soda in the car.

Is there any thing else I should do to it for storage for this long? The most it has ever been in storage is about 10 months, and usually store it every winter for about 4-6 months. Each time I have pulled it out of storage it has always fired right up. Can or should I be expecting anything for this long period of time?

sounds like you've got it figured out too me. I would just double check your fluid levels, like water/coolant to avoid corrosion maybe???

If it was me I would have someone fire it up every few months to keep the seals from drying out. My old Z would leak transmission fluid really bad after long storage. Might not have that option though.

depending on the location of storage....might be worth blocking off the exhaust pipes and intake....keep critters out.

and are the jackstands putting the suspension undder load? i would not store it on the frame. car is designed to sit on a loaded suspension.

stands under the rear axle, and under the front arms

Yeah, I would do the jackstands to keep from flat spotting the tires. I would also drain all the fluids. And then put a note on the steering wheel warning you when you get back not to start it.

Let me store it for ya, not too far away and I'll drive it every now and then ;-)

Sounds like you have it mostly figured out, if its possible the best thing would be to drain the has completely out of it.

I would also look into draining the oil as well. Sounds wierd but for sitting still that long and not being started, it will actually allow condensation inside the pan and start rusting from the inside out....not good.

Just my 2 cents.
