Limited Slip / Posi ?

I have a 97 Z, auto w/ 3.23's. Its my understanding that it came with Limited Slip, being a Z28 and all. I recently had the tranny fluid/filter and rear diff fluid replaced and everything has been real smooth shifting since then (i did not have problems beforehand).

If I by chance leave a smoky burnout, it is one wheel peel? Is there a way a novice like myself can check and see if its ok. Its pretty slick pavement, so i'm thinking it could have just not caught enough to leave a mark?

Re: Limited Slip / Posi ?

Should have come with LSD

I always test my LSD by standing on the gas and feeling the rearend float around.

There's probably a professional way to test it but I don't know about it.

BTW, both tires don't have to spin. All the lsd does is make sure that all the power doesn't go to one tire. Once you start spinning on a non-lsd car, the tire that is spinning gets almost all the power from the engine. If you want a true 50/50 split between right and left tires, you've pretty much gotta go with a locker.

Re: Limited Slip / Posi ?

All Z28's came with a posi. rear end, it's part of what makes the car a Z.
Did the place you had the fluid changed at put in the GM additive?
How many miles on it, could be just worn out.
If your on slick pavement and only one wheel is spinning, you definitely have a problem.
