Question Left blinker stopped BLINKING!!! ---

I have a 96 z28 and my brake light burned out on my drivers side, and my left blinker stopped "blinking" on and off. When I turn it on , it just stays SOLIDLY on. Well I thought it would change when I replaced the bulbs....but to my surprise I have a brake light again, but NO BLINKING MODULE!!! How do I get the light to blink on and off when I make a left turn?! I can obviously turn it on and off by my hand, lol...but I want it to work stock again....HELP, and THANKS!!! ---

it may be the wiring.. that was the problem with mine. I just left the turn signal on and fiddled with it until it started working and then put it all back together real slowly

Do you think the wiring burnt from the bulb going out ?! Should I check from the dash BACK , or from the back to the DASH!? ---

i dont think that a bulb going out would result in burning of a wire... when you put on your turn signal and it stays lit on the dash that is the signal that there is a burnt bulb. So you turn the car on put the turn signal on and locate the bulb that is not illuminated. If its the one you replaced just pull out the tail light and move the wire connected to the socket around a little bit and see if it goes on. Thats what i did. its just faulty wiring that when put in the correct position works..

It could be the flasher. It dosn't really make sense that it would be. I'd think neither right or left turns would blink. I had the same problem last year but I went through all my bulbs and they all checked out fine, when i replaced the flasher it worked again.

wheres the flasher located on our cars? My car intermitently stops working in this manner. It will just stay on steady when I try to use it, and then sometimes it will work totally normally.

Check your third brake light, I had this problem and that was it... the time before that it was a side marker light and once it was the tail lamp.

It's not your blinker module if one side still blinks properly.

I had some serious corrosion around the bulbs in my 93 and one of them stopped blinking just like yours.... check for corrosion. You might want to convert up to the 98+ harness also so you can use the newer and cheaper bulbs.

Mine did the same thing on the right side.. I just changed all the bulbs up front and it worked again. It does that to tell you that you have a light out (most of the time)

Re: Left blinker stopped BLINKING!!! ---

I had a left rear drivers brake light out, so I fixed it....AND about 10 minutes after I fixed it I went to use the blinker.....BUT I BURNT OUT THE SAME BULB AGAIN!!! Could this be because I touched the bulb too much or because there is a short in the system!? It kept a good bulb for about 8 months, and now has eaten two in the last week. There is ALOT of yellow corrosion in the bulb slot.....should I try to clean it all out with a q-tip and reinstall a new light?! I used light "grease" and everything!!! A newer harness may be the answer?! ---
