LE2 or Supercharger? Help me choose!

I can't seem to make up my mind on what i want to spend about 2-3 grand on for performance. I've talked to friends and some other F-body owners, I even talked to LE himself. I just need alittle more help with this, so here is my setup.

95' z28
BUILTA4 w/ 3.42 gears and 10-bolt
stock bottom end 350 w/ 85,000
Portmatched Heads and intake
1.6 RR from Comp Cams
Hardend pushrods w/ guideplates
ARP headbolts
Fel-pro headgaskets
LT4 Hotcam w/ valve springs
Pacesetter LT w/ ORY and flowmaster cat-back
Poly Engine and Tranny mounts
Strange Axle rearend parts
!AC !AIR !EGR !CAT
255lph Intank pump

I would like to get a supercharger so i'm not going back to redo the heads and cam i just did 5 months ago. I'd like to get alittle more out of all that money before i redo that instead of upgrading elsewhere.

So, i just need alittle help, thanks!

Personally, if I spent the money to upgrade the heads/cam a few months prior, that would be one of the last things I would consider upgrading again. I would do the supercharger.

Its very likely your stock shortblock is gonna last longer w/ the heads and cam package than it will with a s/c. And unless everything you buy is used, a s/c kit with the supporting mods will cost a bit more.

Stock pistons are not going to handle a SC for very long. New parts to do a supercharger properly, not including the engine rebuild you're going to need later, will cost $4k (blower, ignition system, larger injectors, dyno tuning, fuel pump upgrade).

I would add cubes w/all forged internals first since the heads and cam are already upgraded, then supercharge it later.

You could always run nitrous.

I do have a bottle, just that is all i have. Though that is one of the most expensive parts. Just would like to have all the power on the street as well as the strip.. and the bottle is just alittle too dangerous and illegal.

mite i suggest instead of spending that money on a blower, you just get a bigger crate motor...

not many LT1 crate motors available...

like everyone said...it's a crap shoot as to how long the motor holds the boost. you could be fine for 3K miles or 30K miles.

maybe start with a bigger cam and keep saving for an engine rebuild later.

Sounds like heads and cam might be the way most poeple go. I do love that whistle though!

if you want the whistle, get a edelbrock TB. Mine whistles like a blower lol. JK. I would go with the H/C only because it will last longer than the blower. Sucks to redo all that stuff again but when its all said and done, it will be worth it. Good luck with your choice.

Re: LE2 or Supercharger? Help me choose!

The LE2 motor wont last long either if he's reving it to where the real power is. Yea I'd honestly say get a crate motor 355 from one of the supporting vendors and throw the LE2 package on that. Or if you want better gas mileage and want to spend more money, throw a procharger on it
