keyless remote busted

my keyless remote trunk button is busted. I replaced the battery, cleaned the pad and terminals. the doors and the panic button works great, but the trunk button does not. I can open it from inside the car with the trunk release button. I figure its the remote. How compatible are GM remotes?? I see this one on EBAY

It looks exactly the same, and I see the instructions how to reprogram it on shoebox's site. Do you think it'll work?

Not meant as a hijack, but the shoebox only shows programing the keyless entry clicker for the mid-90's. Is 2000 the same; if not, any ideas where..?

You want to make sure the FCC ID#'s are the same. That's that KOBxxxx number.

IROC-T is correct, the FCCID needs to match. Don't think it'll work, just looked it up at http://autotechs.com/fcc/fccidsearch.htm

It's very similiar - if you don't have an owners manual shoebox's site has them to download or look at.
