keyless entry acting weird please help ???

Ok this is pretty weird but sometimes the lock button
on the key fob wont lock the doors. When you press the
lock button on the key fob the interior lights will come on
as if its locking the doors but no movement with the locks
(this all happens when the car is off) . If you press the
unlock button it will unlock the doors but still no luck with
the lock button. If you open the doors and hit the lock
button inside the car then press the key fob lock button
it all works fine for a while. Sorry so complicated . Any help
please . Thanks

Mine works erratically like that too. I have pretty much decided the problem is the receiver.

From my previous testing, it seemed like it would work at times when I would play around with the circuit board on the receiver. Prodded into action by this post, I just came in from taking my soldering iron and touching each solder joint on the board in case there was a "cold joint" somewhere. It is working ok at the moment, but I will give it some time to see if it stays good.

Since I touched up the circuit board, it has been working perfectly.

Another thing mine was doing: I could unlock the driver's door, but on the second push, it would not unlock the passenger door. All working fine, now.

any time i had a problem with the keyless entry, like sometimes it would lock or unlock itself...even while driving (talk about being possessed), I would disconnect the battery overnight. Worked like a charm. If it didn't work the first time, it worked the second.

having same problem here. Hit unlock a couple of times and it never unlocks the passenger door. Also it will not lock the doors when I leave the car.

This is a very old thread, but mine went back to being stubborn sometimes, so messing with the circuit board was not an apparent fix.

I don't know if this a keyless entry problem or not, but I just bought a '97 WS6 and the driver headlight gear is worn when it goes down and grinds for a few seconds before it quits. The thing that bugs me is that when you hit the lock or unlock the headlights flip up, then back down...and to my knowledge, I didn't think they were supposed to do that. Moreover, when I unplug the driver motor and cycle it 2 times...the headlights quit going up & down and it acts normal. But when I plug the driver headlight back in, and after the I turn the lights on and back off...it is back to flipping up & down with the lock & unlock with the keyless entry. What gives?

your headlight motor gear is ground down. You can either buy a new motor, open up the motor and buy a replacement gear (metal), or you can just open it up and flip the plastic gear 180 degrees).

yea i read about the gear flip...but are they supposed to pop up & down when you press the lock & unlock button on the key fob?
