Keep foglights on with high beams.

I just want to be able to turn on my foglights while the brights are on. All the links to the past guides are dead. Does anyone know how to do this on an lt1, i can't seem to find the info.

Do you do a lot of driving with the brights on and still need the foggers?

With the stock lights on 93-97 Camaros, A set of KC Daylighters on the roof would be more beneficial but look like a$$. These cars need all the light on the road they can get, and it looks good, too. It's such a simple mod, why not do it?

Why do it? I did it and it does nothing. The fogs add no light and i can't even tell a diff. It does look kind of cool, but who sees you with your brights on anyways. The only reason i see to do it if if you have some aftermarket fogs.

I agree the fog lights do nothing as far as adding light to the road. I simply like the way they look otherwise Id never use them.

Not trying to hijack either, but would that mod also make the fog lights come on independently, meaning, you don't need the headlights on at all?

Re: Keep foglights on with high beams.

s3gulit -- A link was posted already in this thread.

z95m6 -- read sig, the part right after '90mm headlight/'. Maybe you should check the aiming of your fog lights.

shouldboughtthez -- With the fog switch on, the fogs will come on with the markers and stay on with headlights, low or high. The little light on the switch will go out but the fogs stay on (on highbeam). They will turn off if you turn off the headlight switch. Can't have fogs on without at least the markers on.

turbo_Z -- Try some aftermarket fogs like the Hellas. With mine, I don't need to turn on the projector lows around town to see better than the orig. low+fogs.

Re: Keep foglights on with high beams.

Once you do this mod, can you turn the foglights off with the switch or are they always on when the headlights come on? Its kind of confusing.

Re: Keep foglights on with high beams.

I just did the mod, took 10 minutes plus 1/2 hour to figure out how to put the fuse cover back on.... should have been the simplest thing but i had it on backwards. It definentally looks cool. Easy to do.

Is there a mod to run them independently? I don't mind them on with the marker lights on. I have seen some vettes that have this.

I'm pretty sure me and Brad (turbo_z) weren't talking to you. I'm sure if you had stock head lights and some bad *** fogs it would be worth turning on the fogs. When my car had stock lights i could drive with the low beams on and flip on the fog light switch and you couldn't tell anything. Hell with my TA dash the fog light switch didn't light up and i didn't even know they were on until i saw a reflection. I just installed FF75's and they are awesome, i can promise you turning on the fogs with them does jack but looks cool. If you have stock head lights and stock fogs, modding them to come on with brights does nothing but looks cool.

Re: Keep foglights on with high beams.

z95m6 -- Yeah, with the Hellas there's a lot bigger difference in side lighting than all stock. But when I had stock lights, I could tell a difference. It wasn't much, but it was there. That's why I thought the aim was off, the beam pattern on them is so vague they are a PITA to aim well. With the fogs+lows, I had the lows aimed a little higher to get as much range on them as possible. When i made that post I was in a little time crunch and made it brief. Now I look back at it, it came across as curt. Sorry 'bout that. And hell, six lights can't be any worse than four, right?

shouldaboughtthez -- I haven't seen or heard of a mod like that. It could be done using the stock fog light relay by modifying the wiring to it but I don't have a diagram handy and like they way mine work now. Sorry I'm not any more help on it.
