K&n Cold Air Intake.

Hi there,
I would like to fit a cold air intake to my 95 Z28.There is a product available from K&N,the FIPK part no 57-3010-1.The only problem is K&N say that this part will not fit cars with traction control. My car has traction control, anybody know why this product is not suitable for my car.I can't understand why the air intake would affect the traction control system.
Also does any other company make a decent cold air intake system for my car?
Many thanks in advance for your help, best regards,Mark.

it probably has something to do with interferance with some of the bracketry or brake lines that are associated with the traction control. although i've never heard of a company mentioning the problem.

look into moroso or lingenfelter, they both make good cai kits for the lt1

Re: K&n Cold Air Intake.

Hello teke184,
Thanks for the quick reply to my question. The only problem for me is that I live in the United Kingdom.Over here in the U.K we have authorised dealers for K&N,and although they wouldn't stock the kits for American cars they could probably order me one.I have heard of MOROSO and LINGENFELTER but I don't know where to source them from.
Is it possible to do a home-made set up,my local store sells universal-fit K&N filters.
Will be travelling to Florida at the end of May for my annual two week vacation.Perhaps I can source some parts while I,m on holiday and bring them back in my suitcase!!
You live in a cool part of the world,Florida is an amazing place, best regards,Mark.

Re: K&n Cold Air Intake.

i'm pretty sure the K&N kits will still fit your car...even though they mention it won't. like i said...ive never heard of a clearance issue.

maybe contact some of the site vendors and see what they can do for shipping overseas.

actually i just looked up overseas shipping in my summit catalog and they say that they will ship overseas but will add a $24 handling charge.

in the catalog they have the K&N kit listed, and it says nothing about traction control, price is $225. they also have the morosso, which also says nothing about traction control, and the price is only $190. i say go for the morosso!!

www.summitracing.com

check out www.jegs.com too...doon't have a catalog handy right now
