Just got the magnaflow on

Just had the magnaflow put on and welded up.

I HIGLEY recommend it for you LT1 guys. Car sounds very mean and at cruise you only hear a slight rumble. In first gear you can really hear it and also at WOT and the 3 1/2 inch tips look great coming out the back

Don't worry the smell will go away in a couple of weeks.
And after about 500 miles, it'll get a bit louder too.

Does it sound better than the Flowmaster system? I know it may not be the most well-built, but the Flow sounds awsome. I'll probably be looking for a newer system with better tips here not to far in the future.

Re: Just got the magnaflow on

I've had both mufflers on my car. Both are pretty unique, the magnaflow being mellower. The flowmaster was much more aggressive and louder... it has a snarl to it. Which one someone likes going to boil down to personal preference.

Re: Just got the magnaflow on

I have the magnaflow on my car. Previous owner put it on there. Its been on there for 3 years and 30,000 miles, not a single problem with it.

I personally think its a little too quiet, but it doesn't drone on the interstate, so that's the main reason I've stuck with it. It sounds nice, but its more of a flat type of tone, no real snarl in it, not nearly as mean sounding as the cutout. I uncap the cutout when I feel like I need some nicer music.

i agree with it being a little too quiet... i used to have the magnaflow CB on my old LT1 and it was whisper quiet at idle, and had a decent sound at WOT but me personally i dont like the lack of loudness but i must say that it is alot better than flowmaster in the drone category.
