Introducing myself

Hey all, I came across this board while doing some info searching for Z28s. It seems like a great website, and I hope to find out alot here.

I don't currently have a Z28, but that's why I'm here. I'm looking to get a second, fast car, and I'm leaning heavily towards a '99 + Z28 or T/A. I've always been an F-body girl, and I might as well get one while I'm young and can have fun with it.

One question, while looking at some Z28s for sale, I came across this Camaro

OMG, what a drop dead gorgeous car and color....this car is an '02, is this even a factory color, and if so is it color exclusively on this year only? Was it available on the Firebirds also? What is the name of this color? I'm assuming it's rare, as I've never seen this car before.

Thanks for any help in advance. I tried doing a search on it, but couldn't find any relevant info, so I apologize if this has been posted before.

Re: Introducing myself

First off welcome to the site. I think that color is Sunset Orange Metallic. I may be wrong though. they didn't make many with that color. It was available in 01 and 02. And there were like 13 or so in 00 that had that color. I know it was on camaros but not sure about the firebirds. I hope that helps somewhat.

Re: Introducing myself

welcome, since your looking into a 99 + model, it will help out if you look in the LS1 section. LT1 is for 93-97 fbody. Also there is another site for LS1 cars which is LS1.com hope that will help you out. That is a nice color but I can't remember the correct name, I think it's call sunset orange.

Wow, thank you all for the warm welcome. Thanks also for the color name, I think that will defintely be something to keep my eye on.....however the black is too sexy to be denied.

Re: Introducing myself

Thanks again for fast, friendly responses.....not alot of mesaageboards are so quick to help out a newb, so all responses are very much appreciated.

I'm getting super excited about possibly getting a car such as this. I want a car with some attitude and some some definite go-fast capability after driving my Maxima all the time, and I think the Z28 will fit the bill perfectly. I've always wanted one, and now would be perfect timing.

A few other questions, I don't know anyone with an F-body, so for those of you who have one or experience with the 4th gen are they pretty reliable and easy to maintain? That's not super important since this will be a second car, but I don't want my fun car to be down whenever I'd want to drive it so just looking for a little general history. What seem to be the most common problems? Most common complaints? Random question, I would defintely like to get T-tops.....do they tend to leak, or are they pretty solid?

Thanks in advance

Re: Introducing myself

That would be a good question for the ls1 tech. They will tell you all about what goes on with an ls1. Personally I have an lt1.
