Intake and disk brake questions...

I have the disk brakes in the front, and drum brakes in the back, I was wondering how difficult and what all would be involved in converting the rear brakes to disk as well so that I have disk brakes all around.

My question about the intake is, I have the stock intake with a K&N air filter, I plan to replace the entire canister with a K&N cone filter so I can get more air in the engine. In the mean time I was wondering if it would ok to cut off the tube coming out of the canister (circled in the picture) so I can get more air in. Here's the pic:

Ya cutting that piece off isn't going to hurt anything. The purpose it serves it to suck cool air in from the fender well.

As for the rear end. Just swap it out to a 4th gen rear from a V8 with disk brakes, and then you'll have limited slip diff. too. You'll need a driveshaft from a 4th gen V8 too and have to fab up the brake line to work. Not very hard to do.

So there's no other way to do the brakes other than swapping the rear end?
