Installing Pro 5.0 Shifter?

Installing Pro 5.0 Shifter?

Guys what all is involved in this? A friend ofmine just bought oen for his stang and I think I'm gonna have to cave and buy one. That thing is amazing...how difficult is it to install and what is involved?

You have to take the top of your console out or the whole thing (30mins) then take the black boot off over the stock shifter, then 4 bolts for the shifter, make a rtv sealed gasket install pro 5.0 and your all set.

It'll take ya about an hr or so.. Its very easy !

Yeah, its not hard at all, a little time comsuming, but I think thats becuase youre confined to kind of a small space.

You just want to remember to lift the e-brake as high as it can go without breaking it LOL. This will ease the removal and installation of the console.

Actually if you look closely there is a tab on the backside of the gear that controls the E-Brake.... Just push the tab with a flat bladed screw driver and the gear pulls away slightly... then move the lever up past vertical and outta the way....

Other than that it's easy as pie Also recommend Lou's Short Stick

Sounds like its not too hard, a friend of mine has done it on a couple stangs so we should be able to figure it out...everyone thinking the Pro 5.0 is the way to go?
