Question installing headers 02 z28

Hi Guys,

First post here, apologies if this isn't in the correct thread.
Recently picked up BBK longtube headers with a Y pipe, I've been doing everything to my car as I would like to learn, I've never done a header install.

Any tips on what to look out for/the difficulty of this job?

Right now it has catback straightpipe exhaust.

thanks in advanced.

Re: installing headers 02 z28

I've never done a set, but here's what I know:

1. You're likely to break at least one manifold bolt. Remove them carefully, because it's a pain to extract a broken one.
2. Spark plugs are 1,000,000x easier with manifolds off. Change yours.
3. You won't realize the full power gains without a tune.
4. The whole job is easier if you lift the car off the front subframe. It's more steps but a lot less frustration. If you have access to a lift, or if you can build a set of cribbing blocks, this is the way to go.
