I installed a hooker cat-back on my 01 Z28 this past weekend. While I love the sound, I noticed a few things and just wanted to see if anyone else has noticed this as well.

First off, there is a drone that causes quite a bit of vibration when driving through neighborhoods as 20 MPH.

Second, I noticed that at certain RPMS while driving, I'll sometimes get the rattles.

It seems to me that these issues only happen at real low RPMS (less than 1500). Once I give it gas, or are cruising on the interstate everything is great again. I checked the pipes and am not hitting anywhere on the car, but the pipe going over the axle is about an inch away from the heatshield. Is this normal?

 

sounds pretty normal. my flowmaster (and all the SLP i had, and the stock) drone mostly when i let off the gas in gear. as long as the pipe dont tounch anywhere and no leaks, ur gravy. being an inch from the heatshield is okay.
