Ignition switch bolt size

what's the size of the bolt holding the ignition switch on a '95?

This is the 4th time I've to replace that POS, it gets burnt every time. Now I've very few tools with me and I can't fit a socket, so I can't find the size of the wrench I need to get

Listed in my replacement guide, the head on the bolt/screws are 8mm.

cool! thanks!

I don't get it: the switch always gets burnt, but not the wires; it always burns inside, so the contact is not the problem...

maybe there's too much load (starter getting bad )

Maybe. Got any aftermarket stuff that requires lots of power?

it's always the cranking contacts that get burnt, not the rest. so the only thing I could think of is that either the motor's hard to turn (and there would be other more noticeable problems ) or the starter's going bad (it was rebuilt once).

Now, as a side note: I've tried to jump start the car a few time with other cars and it just doesn't work with most; I mean the engine barely turns a bit and it stops but when trying with SUVs, etc. Maybe this made the contacts overheat...

I'm really tempted to put an on/off switch and a crank push button. the alarm I have disables the car when it is on, so it could work.
