Angry I need help with this one!!! Pads or tranny mount-?

Alright, I own a '97 Z28, and whenever I step on the gas, you feel a thunk! and it feels like the shifter is about to come through the floorboard. I was told by one mechanic that it was doing that because the shocks were bad. However he dosen't know what he is taking about because I changed the shocks and the same thing happens. I was told by one dude that the problem is the pad things between the shifter and the floorboard. I read some of the past articles that sound like the same problem and it was apperent the problem was the tranny mount. Which is it? Any and all help I would love. Thanks. Corey

Sounds like the trans. mount is shot. go get one and put it in. it doesnt take long. Then the prob should be fixed.

Yea, this is a common problem among fbodies. Just get a poly trans mount and it probably wont happen again. I went through 3 in 1 year until i bought a poly mount.
