Hydra Rev by AFR

I was wondering if anyone has used this?? I hear it helps stop valve float and adds 100hp and RPM increase if i remember coorect. Is it worth it?

Damn, if it adds 100 hp sign me up.

Or is that a typo?

no typo i may be mistaken but the idea is that it extends the rpm range by stopping valve float. again i am not sure if i remember right.

They are using that 100hp number as an example of how valve float can kill power. If you are running less than 6300rpm and have good spring pressures than the rev-kit is not necessary. Above 5300rpm the heavy lifters start to cause float and the rev kit is the correct way to keep them seated against the cam, which in turn will keep the valves seated and give you back the power that should have already been there but was escaping past the seats.

Valve float can be easily seen on a dyno graph, it will look similar to a VE problem but should have some jumping to it, basically a curve the peaks and carries a hp number for an extended rpm range, then drops off, rather than a normal 200rpm peak power range.
