Hurst **** question

I bought a leather wrapped hurst **** and it won't fit on my short throw hurst shifter. The hole in the **** is too big for the shifter. It's on a 95 TA. Has anyone else had this problem or know of a way to fix it?

Was your hurst shifter stock or was it an aftermarket?

Re: Hurst **** question

Just a "shot in the dark", but a remedy might be to buy a 'Lou's Short Stick'. I would imagine that would fit the ****, but I would verify that before buying the 'Short Stick'.

My brother had the factory Hurst leather ****, and it fit to the "short Stick'.

Re: Hurst **** question

What i did was cut the top 1inch or so off my stock shifter then drilled a hole in it and threaded to 3/8's coarse thread. That way i could screw my shift **** on the threaded rod part then put the threaded rod part on the shifter. It works fine and you can't tell the diff.

It was the SLP "stock" Hurst added shifter. SLP put these on almost all of the 6 speeds.
On the sticker under: SLP Engineering Installed Optional Content:
HURST 6-SPEED, SHORT-THROW SHIFTER
