I am looking to find out what gauge the metal is on the floor of the trunk. I am going to be doing the Fuel pump access panel mod to my car and was hping to use a set of air shears. Also I would like to buy a new piece of steel of the same gauge to cover the hole.

i have done this a couple of times and do sheetmetal fab for a living and would say its no thicker than 22ga.i put a 18ga plate on top of the hole and used clear silicone to seal it and i never had a gas smell in the car.hope that helps you out my friend
