How are my fluid Choices.

My T/a has 40k miles and I want to change all the fluids in it so that I am up to date on fluids. The previous owners seemed to be doing a great job on maintainance but I would like to change everything for my own peace of mind. I don't want to spend insane amounts for stuff like royal purple but I can spend a little bit on premium products since I like this car a lot and want to keep it for a long time.

Oil: 5 quarts 10w30 Mobil 1, This was all that was used in this car so far and I got the vette oil cap that says only use Mobil 1, (not that it matters but oh well)

Transmission: t-56: 4 quarts dexron iii ATF fluid, I will see if I can find the mobil 1, if not I will go dino. Any other fluids i should get instead? I have heard that people get good results with certain other fluids but Im not sure.

Rear End: 2 quarts Mobil 1 75w90 (If i go synthetic, do I need the rear end additive), also, Should I go synthetic here or just stick with dino?

I will do the Steering probably with Valvoline SynPower, Already did the brakes with prestone synthetic dot 3

I am not going to change the coolant yet, it works fine, seems good condition and coolant is expensive (I will change it if I ever do a waterpump or cam swap, etc)

Just go over my maintenance plan and see if it is all good or if i should use something else.

5w-30 oil gives you a little wider range of temperatures if you live where it gets below freezing; I think that's normally what GM recommends though 10w-30 is also acceptable in warmer climates. Mobil 1 is good stuff.

When I checked out using synthetics throughout, it was advised I use the Mobile 1 axle lube in the differential WITH the GM additive. Many people were having problems with chattering if they skipped the additive.

I used full synthetic ATF in the manual tranny (as wierd as that still sounds) and have had no problems. I've heard some people say the pre-98 or 99' trannys didn't handle synthetic very well though I've had zero issues.

I didn't go as far as swapping out power steering and brake fluids though that would be a nice project some weekend...

Re: How are my fluid Choices.

I just bought a '98 Z28, and this is what I bought for a tune up:
Mobil 1 5w40 SUV oil (6)
NAPA Gold oil filter
GM Dextron III trans fluid for T56 (4)
Redline 75w90NS + GM posi additive ('98 has Auburn) for diff (2)
Redline for power steering (2)
Valvoline synthetic brake fluid
TR55ix plugs
MSD wires
Dexcool coolant (2 gallons)
GM fuel filter

Did I miss anything?
