How much money should I charge for my AC system?

I pulled the AC off my car a while ago. Someone from a local board wants to buy all of it (anything firewall forward in the engine bay).

I have no clue what I should ask for it. I don't want to give it away, but don't want the dude to have sticker shock either. Any guess on a reasonable amount to ask?

Wink I'll take a shot !

For all the goodies - hoses, compressor , etc. - $ 250.00.

Mind you , that number is pulled from the thin air.

When I bought the junkyard parts to put rear A/C in the '91 Sub I had, it seems like the junkyard parts came out to around $ 225.00 or so, and then there was an additional ~ $ 125.00 or $ 150.00 since the blower case was busted , and the installer recommended just biting the bullet & going w/ new stuff.

I did.

Have you looked at any online salvage yards to get an idea ?

Or, is there some toy or mod that you can finance w/ this sell , thereby setting the price that way ?

Good Luck !

Whatever you get for the A/C it is not going to be as much as you will lose on the resale value of your car. Start with a $2000 loss right now. It is a dumb move on your part for the small performace gain . My opinion.

Uhhhh, I've had this car for 8 years, and it has more money in mods than it does the cost of the car. I'm never selling it, and any stock parts I've had I've sold over the years.

And if you think !AC takes 2k off the price of a used LT1 car (even a stock one), you are highly mistaken.

I have seen just the used compressors go from 50-75 bucks. For a full system, I could see 250 dollars not being completely unreasonable.
