How do you remove the t-top handle

How do you remove the t-top handle

I just wanna take off the trim piece on a t-top any help is appreciated.

I'll bump this because I'd like to know too, the mechanism for mine was really tight and I gently pried back the trim to get some 3/1 oil in there. I couldn't get that trim off.

yeah I wanted to do the same, I also want to take the lock out and rekey it. Easier if I take it out.

If you look at the base of the handle you'll see a thin wire C-clip holding the handle on... Either use a tool to pop the clip off or use a thin flat head screwdriver and pry it off... Then you can unscrew the phillips screws at either end of the trim piece and pull it off.

Damn its jsut s simple clamp...


Either way Its a cinch to get off, I just couldn't get a good look at it. It works just like a crank window on a GM car. I got it off and I also took apart the lock cylinder, and took 2 pins out of the 4 in there and now it works with my key. So I sort of "rekeyed" without having to spend any money. Worked out great
