How can I tell if it's a real z-28

I've got word that my 95 might have started out as a V6 car, if so it's been cloned to a z-28. How can I tell? (I tried a search). Thanks.

Vin number. There is one didgit in there that's a engine code. I'll see if I can find something on how to read a vin and post it up later.

If your eighth vin digit is anything but a "P" it used to be a V-6.

8th digit in vin:

P= LT1
K= 231 V-6 3.8 ltr 200hp (automatic trans only in '95)
S= 207 V-6

Yeah, I've been on the registry for a couple years. Same screen name, just don't post to much any more. My eight vin is a P so I guess it was a Z after all. Thanks for the help
