Hooker LT w/ coating rusting?!?!?!

Hooker LT w/ coating rusting?!?!?!

So i've had my hooker long tubes on my car for about a summer and a half....probably only driven the car with the headers on about 4000 miles IF THAT!...the car is garaged all winter and NO salt has touched the car.....I bought the $200 coating strait from hooker..whats up with this? not the whole pipes are rusted but its forming..

It seems like a common ailment. I baby my car the same way you do and I'm sure I will see some rust spots starting soon as well. Maybe one day though my budget will be able to afford a set of stainless Kooks and I won't have to worry about it no more. I know the benefits involved with coating the headers, but for 200.00 for it to wear off, wouldn't it be cheaper just to wrap them for 20.00 instead??

Wrap will overheat a mild steel header tube and blow it out if not coated.

I bought my Long tubes uncoated 4 years ago. They are rusty, but no leaks and the rust is just surface rust.
