Hi Everyone New Here Need Help

Hi everybody. Im trying to get some information about a camaro that im about to buy my boyfriend. Its a 1996 Black SS camaro with black leather, t-tops, and a 6 speed transmission. It does have 112k miles on it, but its spotless. Not a scratch on it and it drives very smooth. " I had my brother drive it" the guy selling it is the only owner and is in his 40's. He says the car is completely stock. There is a little metal looking badge on the center console that says something like " # 625" Anyways, the guy is asking $8,900 for it and i want to know if you all think it is a good deal or do you think i can do better for the money? Thanks in advance and also if there are any specific kinds of things i should know about this car please let me know that also.

Way to much money. I got my car with 45k on it for $8500 and there were less built then SS. I wouldn't pay anything over $6000 for that car, and thats being a little generous.

Sounds like a nice car, you should be able to get a better price if you pay cash. I'm just curious whose name will be on the title if you buy it? I'd never buy a car for a friend unless you lived with him 7 years!

$8900 for a car with 112K seems a bit steep to me. If that kind of money will buy an LS1 car (98 or later) that would be a better investment IMO.

Re: Hi Everyone New Here Need Help

I have been looking around for a few weeks now and the prices for these kind of cars in my area seem to be very high. I do not want to travel 400 miles for a car. I live in the tampa area of florida. The cheapest i have seen a 1998 z28 for is about 13,000. Any pointers on where to find one cheaper? I have tried autotrader online and there is not much at all.

Re: Hi Everyone New Here Need Help

i'd say offer about 7500
what most people probably aren't thinking of is money adjustment depending on location
you live in tampa so naturally the price might be a little higher, especially on sports cars
i would get the ss but, that's because i love the 96 ss's
they're one of a kind (or one of a 2000 ) type cars that look sweet
jmho

o, and welcome to the board

Thats not tooo bad considering it's an SS. You would think in a warm climate these cars would be more abundant and keep costs down Good luck!!

Re: Hi Everyone New Here Need Help

Hmm whats's the Tampa area of Florida? I live in Temple Terrace and Am a member of a few of the local boards. They have Cars for sale all the time, and are local. Try

TampaRacing.com < they bullsh!t alot but you as a girl will be worshipped lol>
Revxtreme.com < they also worship and have a race shop down at hwy 60 and US 301>

I don't think theres much on this other site but they are mostly local also.
xfbe.com <xtreme fbody enthusiasts>

This site< camaroz28.com> is the Holly Grail, always use it as an fbody owner, Better then having ten surgeons sew up a cut, but making a few local friends is nice cause then they can come help fix the car. Instead of paying too much for service.

My Fiancee And I go down to Bradenton Drag strip every once and awhile and also go to Tamparacing.com Track days < we all rent out the track for a few hours for smaller lines> Maybe You'll join in sometime <If you race , Kinda assumed sorry>

If you go on the site and need help getting to know peeps my fiancee knows most of the Girls on there so you can contact her by pm on Tamparacing<mongoose57> And Revxtreme and Camaroz28 <slowz28girl>
AIM Grneggs21
Oh and on all Boards my Contact is the same as this site.
Have fun hope to see you on the boards.

Theres more sites like A few Orlando based boards but I won't take up anymore space < Please Pm if more info Is requested>

Re: Hi Everyone New Here Need Help

going without t-tops is something you, and probably your BF will regret. There's nothing better than a drive to nowhere on a warm night with the breeze in your hair and an open roof.

Re: Hi Everyone New Here Need Help

Thank you all very much for all the info. I really like the SS but the fact that it doesnt have t-tops might stop me from getting it. Im going to check out some of those sights that black venom put on here and see if i can find something else. thanks again everyone

Re: Hi Everyone New Here Need Help

T-Tops are part of the camaro's bloodline. LOL I'll never buy another performance car without at the very least a sun roof. T-tops or Targa all the way for me. Convertibles aren't my cup of tea though.
