Help! They stripped the lug on my wheel...

The bolt that your lugnut screws on to and whatnot, apparently when they mounted the wheel last they just used the gun and didnt thread it by hand first. So when i took it off the thread is completely stripped now.

How do i fix this.

And thanks!

By knocking the stripped one out and replacing it with a new one. Quite easy to do. Usually easiest to do if you have air gun, though.

Or go back to the place who did that and have them do it.

Cool just a hammer and a little muscle then, when i looked at it that appeared to be all there was to it. But if ive ever learned one thing, its that its never that simple.

Ill just do it myself if its a easy fix, easier than the hassle IMO.

easy fix.

go to autozone and ask for a wheel stud for your car.

take your wheel off, knock the old one out with a hammer.

slide the new stud in, put a couple washers on it, and put a nut on it and use an air gun,(or you can do it by hand if you don't have an airgun), to pull the stud through. (because you can't hammer it through, you have to pull it through with a nut)

total cost: 2 dollars and some change....unless you need a lugnut too, those are like 4 dollars. i think

I had to do this on my car, but I had to take the caliper/disc off first so I could get to the lugs...
I guess fourth gens are easier

similar thing happend to me, except on a honda civic I was fixing. I changed the lug, put it on... and when I went to torque the lug nut, it broke....

Make sure you buy a quality lug.. lol
