I started my car today and the lights automatically came on, then smoke started coming from the headlight switch. I disconnected the battery and yanked the switch out. When I did two red wires came disconnected from the switch along with a brown one? Can someone look at their headlight switch and tell me where the colors go????

why the hell did you "rip" the switch out if you already unhooked your battery? i'd like to help you, but i don't feel like tearing apart my dash. look around on the net, i'm sure there are diagrams.

 

I actually ripped the switch out first, then it kept smoking, so found the tools to disconnect the battery... Looks like the wire that melted was a ground, but it melted to a positive wire

I've been looking around the net for about 2 hrs and no luck.. my hayes manual is a piece of !@#$ it's diagram is wrong for the 98+ camaros

I went to my local GM dealership today and they let me look at the shop manual for the wiring schematic. I came home and fixed the camaro. Runs great again
