having horrbile luck with my 93z28
driving down the road and it starts and than just dies
my key cannot turn to the ac setting and the car can be turned on except it wont start the security light just blinks
what could this be the tumbler or something in the ignition triguring the vats system
please help and thanks

 

sounds like a bad ignition cylinder causing the vats module not to be able to read the pelet on the key. clean the pelet on the key with alchol and if this doesnt work you either have toi replace the ignition cylinder or have the vats tuned out of the pcm

ok went out and cleaned the key
ignition cylindar turned better and car fired rite up ran for 15 minutes idleing and giving revs
than it just shut off again

 

then it sounds like there is a problem with your vats module. if it threw the security light again. if this is the case i would just pay someone like madz28.com to tune it our of your pcm and never worry about it again. it will be much cheaper to do that than to buy a new vats module
