Help??

When I put my foot on the brake, the car would go into gear.If I didn't it wouldn't shift into gear. Now even when I do hit the pedal,it won't shift into any gear. Are there a switch some where that I could check?? Thanks

Re: Help??

There is an interlock solenoid that prevents the car from being shifted until the brake pedal is depressed (obviously; you've found it). It's located either on the steering column or under the console (can't remember which). I bets it's just gotten weak or is sticking. Mine has gotten fairly bad over the last couple years as well, but I havn't bothered to repair it since I'm about to yank and toss it anyway..

Maybe Shoebox can chime in here and point out it's exact location..

Re: Help??

I found the culprit. A wire going to the solenoid/switch had come loose and now everything is ok.It was located on the firewall.
