Heater Hoses

One of my heater hoses today developed a leak. I cut the hose and rigged a barb fitting to a new piece and now i'm good, just some small leaks still.

But my question is, I'm planning to order a new heater hose kit from GM that will come with all new hoses and couplings, but how am I going to crimp the couplings to the hoses and pipes?

If you order part #1 from a GM dealer, it will be the complete metal and rubber hoses all intact, just like the factory ones. It won't be real easy to put on. If you buy the individual hoses, you will have to carefully remove the crimped collars where the rubber hoses attach and then use clamps to hold your new hoses on.

Thanks shoebox! Thats the exact part that I ordered. Any tips on installing this? Looks like I'll have to remove the PS bottle and battery. Anything else?

I have not done it, but it looks to be tight. Might be hard getting to the torx bolt that holds the metal pipes in the middle. Good luck.
