Headlight Shakes ??? !

Guys what in the h*ll makes the headlight shake on the T/A's ?? I have a 96 WS6 that has always had a shake in the driver's headlight bucket and have replaced just about everything trying to figure it out ! If anybody has had a similar problem or knows how fix this it would be unbelievably appreciated !!!!!!!

Does it really bother you that much? Mine doesn't really bother me...its just the lights...well...shaking as you hit bumps, since they're not fixed like the Camaro's they just vibrate a little on bumps...I don't know that you can do anything to stop it.

IrocManiac, it is much worse than you probably deal with, the car is lowered 3 1/2 " and every little transition in the road makes the drivers side bounce all over. I know it should not be this bad because the passenger side is rock solid. Plus some my other friends have 93 thru 97 t/a's and theirs don't shake. So I would appreciate any help I can get on this subject ! Thanks Mike

It might be the gear in the headlight motor is striped a bit right where it sits when it is open....Do a search for headlight fix and look for the guy that has the gear fix...

i actually have the same problem with my car. i was gonna post on this tonight but you beat me to it. i found that the arm that goes from the motor to the headlight itself is loose at the top. there appears to be a bushing in there that is either popped out or worn out. i dont know if its easily repaired. id like to get it fixed cause yes it is that bother some. i hate seeing my light beam shake on the car in front of me and i actually can see the housing shake if theres still some light outside. its annoying as hell to me and im sure the people that see me are thinking what the hell. I had begun to think mine was normal, but maybe I'll check the arm on mine too to see if it's the problem. Thanks for the tip.

I think your onto something with the bushing? I have often wondered if that was the source of my problem. It's about the only thing that I have not replaced. Does anyone know how to replace this bushing ??

Oh yeah, I see you have a silver WS6 formula 6 speed. I have silver WS6 (1996) T/A 6-speed with graphite leather. I definitely can tell you we both have a rare color combo WS6 for that year. I have personally never seen another 96 WS6 T/A silver with graphite and a 6-speed.

SilverBulletWS6, so even if the headlight motor is new you still replaced the gear with the brass one. If that is all it is I can't wait to order a set of brass gears from Brent !

yea the funny thing is while i was looking for my car i found two others that were for sale else where in the country. so that means of the 27 silver six speed ws6 formulas built three were for sale at the same time.

anyway back to the topic. ive got new gears on both my motors and it still shakes. maybe with some of yall it is something with the motor, but i know on mine its at the top where the arm connects to the housing. when i get the time im going to maybe see about pulling it apart and figure out a way to fix it. but it wont be anytime soon im sure. im just too busy and i have other things to do like a tune up. Crap you haven't fixed or figured this out in 2 years?
Sorry, I wish I could help... Without just throwing thing into what have you done to test this? have you had the lights up and pushed on the suspension to see if you could see or hear what is shaking and what is stationary?
Also have you tried to manually adjust it to the top position, maybe it isn't locking all the way up!
