Headlight Question

One of my headlights went out last night and I want to put Xenon bulbs in (melt out the old bulb from the housing and glue Xenon bulbs back in). The question I have is how many watts are the bulbs now? The reason I am worried about this is my friend has a 94 mustang gt and he put Xenon bulbs in with a higher wattage than stock and they fried his wiring and he had to spend a sh*t load to have it replaced. Also which lights are for regular headlights not brights 9005 / 9006?

Thanks

Cameron

Re: Headlight Question

I also just found this on the internet.

http://www.autotoys.com/x/catalog/EU...ION_p_548.html

What size are our headlights, I know the 3rd gens had 5x7, so what are ours.

Thanks

Re: Headlight Question

Do a search in the appearance section, it's been discussed heavily.

Short answer: Unless you use an insane high watt bulb, it should be OK. I'm running 80w (REAL 80w, not 55w=80w)If you are so worried, buy a heavy duty harness. Search on that too...

Re: Headlight Question

I have the 9006 sylvania cool blue bulbs in mine stock casings. you dont even have to melt them off. i tryed on one and hit the glass with the flame from a torch and CRACK.

you can actually just pry them of with a screwdriver and then just scrape off the sealant that is lieft on there. i have done it this way 4 times now. just use the smallest size flathead you have.

Re: Headlight Question

Thanks a lot for all the replies guys, I appreciate it. One last question, after I put 9006s in my stock housing, what do you recommend I use to keep them in there?

Thanks
