Question Headers banging off floor, what can i use?

My LT headers are banging off floor right under my seat. I want to wedge something between the floorboard and pipe. Any ideas what I can use that wont melt? TIA

Well when you get a chance replace you motor and tranny mounts with polyurethanes. I hade the same problem and that solved it, but temporarily i used header wrap and just built it up around where it was hitting and that solved it.

anything "wedged" under there is a bandaid..not a fix.

i also reccomend the poly motor mounts. my engine barely moves when under load, compared to 1/2-3/4" of movement prior.

gonna be a pain to change the mounts with the headers in though

you can also try this:
LS1 Y-Pipe "Bump Stop" Hanger

It's a well known fact that all LS1 F-Body cars have a "banging" issue when a set of long tube headers are installed. This banging causes the knock sensor to activate, causing a timing retard, taking away much needed horsepower under hard acceleration (usually at a drag strip when traction is ideal). This Mufflex hanger uses a rubber bumpstop that will not allow the Y-pipe to hit the underbody of the car causing this situation. The lower clamp and support rods are made out of stainless steel (tig welded for strength) and the upper rod is zinc coated steel.

should work fine even though it says "ls1"

bout 2/3 of the way down

I've had PPL tell me that this is not a good idea.....well atleast for the header pirmaries. But you can allways dimple it w/ a hammer. Don't have to smash the heck out of it, but just enough to give you some clearance. Cheap and easy first..

The header wrap sound like it'd be a good temp fix....
