I've been looking around for some carpet for my firebird..i've noticed most i've found esp. out of newer f-bodys have 2 holes near the back of the carpet on top of the fuel tank area. Does this have something to do with t-top holders (mines a hardtop) or is this some sort of place for cargo tie down hooks that were added in later years?

 

Are the on the side of the panels right by the ledge before it goes down into the trunk? If so, that's where the rear hatch lid goes. You can see it in this ad if you scroll down a little bit.
