Question hard start

recently it took a couple cranks to get my car started. I drive around, turn it off, and when come back out to crank it up, starts right away, so i figure that was just a fluke. Two days later, does the same thing, only this time after three cranks nothing. I let it sit for a couple minutes, then it fires right up.

Any ideas? I think it's fuel, but i dont want to drop a ton of time and money on the fuel pump if maybe its something simpler. What do these symptoms sound like? The car has been sitting for about a week now, am afraid if i keep using it i'll end up needing a tow.

How does the car run once you get it started?

Best way to diagnose fuel problems is with a fuel gauge attached to the Schrader valve on the fuel rail. After priming the fuel pump, the fuel pressure shouldn't drop off rapidly.

Shoebox has a great tutorial going over fuel pressure diagnostics: http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.htm...essure_testing
