Gunna break?

hello all
I fuguered the gearheads here could help
I recently bought a 2001 ss.
I was playing around the other day, loving the power, and I shifter into second around 4 and a half
and the back of the car felt like it was hopping up and down pretty bad.
kinda worried me, so today it's raining (gotta love Florida) and I did the same thing on wet road
and the same thing happened.
can anyone give any insight?
I'm afraid something will get broken.

You are [more than likely] experiencing wheel-hop. The stock, stamped LCA's (rear lower control arms) are very weak and when your wheels spin in an attempt to gain traction they shake the rear end up and down violently.

You can replace the LCA's with aftermarket pieces from any of our vendors for around $100, and you can get LCA Relocation Brackets to align them moreso how they came from the factory. VERY worthy upgrade IMHO, I have J&M tubular LCA's and I love them. It was really a night-and-day difference over stock.

Good luck!

I found these

should I also look into the LCA relocation brackets? or save the 80 bucks and just use the old ones?

The relocation brackets are an additional piece that reorients the aftermarket LCA's to the 'near stock' location. You don't need them, and some say they will hurt road performance but I'm not one to say.

The LCA's you linked are the ones I have and I love them - would recommend them to anyone. Their customer service is awesome too; I was having a problem with the install and I gave them a call and they just walked me through it.

Nope, I had heard a few more reviews saying they help more for straight line, and they hurt cornering. Being a daily driver I opted against them. Install for their LCA's was a breeze though, good luck!

Purpose of the relocation brackets is to maintain the angle of your LCA's when you lower your car. But if a car is not lowered its not needed imo.

Your car can also produce wheel hop if your 2 bolts that attach your torque arm to your Diff housing. Usually the hop/will produce a very loud noticeable clank but check that anyways while your under there.

I just bought the polyball set up from hotpart. Nice piece and good guys to buy from.
