Question Ground wire question

Ok so last night i yanked out my steering column to replace my ignition switch. In the process of removing it i noticed there was a black ground wire that looked like it had been cut, but it might have come loose while i was working. The wire passes through the firewall right next to the steering column flange at the firewall.

I do have an aftermarket stereo so I'm wondering if that could be the reason for the loose wire but Im not sure....

Re: Ground wire question

I don't know of any factory ground wire in that location and no factory wire would ever go through the firewall without a grommet.
