Got my car back

And Holly**** does it shift good.
I drove it home today and just had to get on it.
I have a 97 Z28, just a few boltons.
Any way I have 3:42's and 275/40/zr18 and from a 20-25 mph roll the car just spins the whole way through 2nd.

I guess what i am asking is this good? and would i def. need slicks when i go to the track?

Keep in mind my tires were not hot.

before the E W/P and TB bypass, trans overhaul. i ran 13.8 @ 100.34 mph.
I also went from 3:73 to 3:42

Any clue on what my time should be now?

MODS:
3:42 gears
Electric W/P
Borla Cat-Back (opened)
Hollow Cats
TB Bypass
Moroso CAI
Shift Kit and Rebuild

13.8 @ 100.34 MPH, 2.0 60'

Re: Got my car back

You went DOWN in gearing? Why? Also, is it an A4 or M6? Why would you go down from 3.73's?

Re: Got my car back

the reason for the gear change. I bought a set of 3:73 richmond gears + torsen differential + Install= ~700.00

To make a long story short. I was driving my car (the day of my wedding)
when i pulled out from a red light (i mean i launched). when the car shifted into second all i heard was a loud bang and it felt like the trans. came thru the floor.
so i get the car home and pull the cover off the rearend. well when i pulled the cover off i saw that the pinion gear was completely destroyed. Meaning that it locked up. Well i said !@#$!@#@*&&^ alot and decided i was going to just put a complete stock rearend in it.
and i found a good deal on a low mile complete 3:42 rearend. i wasn't trusting anyone else to put gears in my car.(at least not yet)

if you want to know more i put the rearend in and take the car for a ride. i get on it and when it shifts the trans bangs again. I also lost drive and overdrive. (found out that when the rearend locked up the trans. went thru alot of stress and also broke). This really sucked.

Trans rebuild - $1272.00, new rearend - $200.00, Driving an F-Body - priceless

Yes, you can get it built, but you cannot put a "shift kit" in it, like you stated.

Re: Got my car back

When you had the trans. rebuilt, did you have a higher stall converter put in? With a good set of tires, I can see you getting around mid 13s.

Re: Got my car back

2200 stall came with the kit that he installed.

ran out of cash.

But why would it spin thru 2nd gear now? it never did before.
