Is this a good deal? ($3200 '94 Z28 with 6spd)
Hello!
I've been looking for something fun to play with on the weekends, and came across a 1994 Z28 T-top on craigslist
"1994 Z28 6-speed manual Camaro, T-top. Arizona car with zero rust. 180,000 miles. Newer leather interior. Edelbrock headers, Flowmaster exhaust, Cannon air filter, rebuilt rear end, aftermarket rims. New distributor in 2011. Would make excellent restoration or hot rod project. Car has intermittent lifter noise. $3200 OBO"
What do you guys think? Opinions, red flags to look for?
I'm taking my mechanic friend with me to give it a good one over, and he'll help me with any work that needs to be done. I understand a car that old will need some maintenance (my current car is a 94 too), I just don't want it to turn into a money pit.
Thanks in advance.

Nope. Mileage too high and unless you are looking to rebuild an engine then I would not buy it. Trust me the engine rebuilds on the LT1 I am finding to be quite expensive. There are a lot of low mileage cars out there in the same price range.
BTW thank you for your service to us all!!!

Thanks for the input guys.
I'm having a lot of difficulty finding a decent Camaro in the mid-Michigan area. Everything is a V6 automatic, and most cars seem to be high mileage. Autotrader has nothing within 100 miles of me, and Craigslist is just full of beat-to-hell old workhorses with 150,000+ miles. Rust is always an issue in this state.

FWIW:
I sold a '94 Camaro Z28 (A4) with 130k on it for $4000 in 2006.
I also sold a '97 Z28 M6 with ~112k on it for $5000 in 2007.
Obviously that's no indication of the current market, but that seems a little high for the car today unless it's in GREAT shape.

Ultimatley...its only as valuable as someone is willing to spend.....
Do u have plans to tear it down and build it up...or do u wanna start driving it and not really do anything.

Mine has the same miles but has ZO6 wheels, I would ask $4500 if I was going to sell it. Miles are just a number, mine runs great and looks great. You can talk him down just like I would go down to $4000 on mine lol

Re: Is this a good deal? ($3200 '94 Z28 with 6spd)
Just picked up my 1994 z28 in Tampa, FL for $2000 about 4 weeks ago. Put a new battery and alternator in it and drove it back to Panama City, FL. on one tank of gas. 208,000 miles on the car. It's my daily driver now and while it does need things it's perfect for me. I know of a 93 z28 for sale here in Panama City for $1200 obo. It runs, but rats got into the engine wiring so would probably need that whole harness.
