Glazed headlights?

The front of my 98Z looks like a dead fish with glazed over eyes. Is there a cheap way to get the headlight covers or housing? Anyone else have their headlights glaze over over time?

Re: Glazed headlights?

More than likely theyre not glazed, theyre chemical burnt. Degreasers, some bug removers and acid will all do this. Replace or cover, personally Id be looking for replacements.

Re: Glazed headlights?

What's the correct name for the headlight enclosures? I may be able to find them on GM parts direct, right now I just find 'High beam sealed Beam' and 'low beam sealed beam there' without pics so I'm not sure if I'm looking at the right thing.

Re: Glazed headlights?

Not sure what youre asking, try looking for head lamp assembly. If you go to a dealership theyll know what youre talking about. Might check aftermarket or ebay as well. Be a lot cheaper.

Re: Glazed headlights?

Try some plastic or plexiglass polish. It depends on how bad they are as to what you can do with them.
They are called the "headlamp" (includes bulbs) and are over $200 each at dealer wholesale. Over $330 retail.

1500-grit sandpaper + water = clear lenses.

A product is available from 3M that is made to polish plastic. It works great.

i plan to hit them again soon, gotta find some finer sandpaper. best i can find around here is 1000. thats the reason i use the 2 different polishes after the sandpaper...

Damn, i should have come back sooner, thanks for the replies, I had no idea they were that expensive. Thanks!

BTW, this is the best website ever!.. that has no pr0n....

... I take it Zaino products like Z2, and Z5 may cause glazing if I try to use them (mainly Z5) as a polish on the lamps. Anyone try this?
