Re: Glass Pack

Technlogy has come so far since glass-packs.
A nice 3" cat-back will make your car sound and run much better.

I'm a big fan of Hooker myself. I love the smooth tone.

here are a few links to sound clips so you can pick what sounds best to you.

Re: Glass Pack

Glass packs are used mostly on lowriders where they need to save under space. They just dont sound that great either.

Re: Glass Pack

Its all subjective.
I run purple horny glasspacks on my 94 Z and everyone says it sounds badass.
I love it, but I love the old musclecar sound. That new raspy crap makes me want to heave.

Re: Glass Pack

try it, most the people complaining about them have catbacks.

If you want obnoxiously loud you will like them. As far as the farm truck comments, only if you bog it down to 1krpms while crusing. WOT they sound pretty mean.

Highly constructive comment there, tell us what you run so we can be sure to avoid it.

Re: Glass Pack

Bullet-type glass packs sound HORRIBLE !
Have to agree with the comment above about crappy beat-up trucks usually having them....it's because they are CHEAP and they sound it....really loud ratty, "cackly" sound. At wide-open they sound barely better than the huge worthless tailpipe "fart-cannon" type mufflers that all the "Type R" import crowd seem to think adds at least 50hp (what a freekin' joke) to their heaps.

Re: Glass Pack

i put another vote for the hooker. Not too loud, not too quiet. Good price, good reliability, easy install. If you are willing to throw down a little coin i think this is one of the better cat backs to go wtih over just a muffler.
