Pretty sure you have to rip the dash out to get that heater core out....You can also put one of these in http://www.billingsleyracing.com/interior_safety.htm (2nd item down) to make your car more track compliant Had to be a guide floating around somewhere.

Re: getting the rest of ac out

I just finished doing this. The reason you see the Evap core still in most cars that have deleted AC is because its a MAJOR undertaking to get the evap core out of the car. You must completely remove the dash from the car.
Everything must come out, and its not an easy weekend job. I started about the 1st of august on this little project and just this weekend is everything coming back together. I did install new carpet and a pro stick shifter and a new seat but removing the dash to get the evap core out and reinstalling took most of that time. I was working a couple of hours after work and weekends but I just want to emphasize this is alot of work and you really need another person at some points to help. Once the main portion of the dash is ready to come out you need someone to help guide it out of the car as the passenger side airbag is about 20 pounds and its damn near impossible to get it out of the car by yourself without cracking the hell out the dash.
You will lose your heat and defrost when you do this unless you rig something up to keep your heater core and blower motor intact but it would be hard to do in my opinion. I don,t care as the car is going to be a weekend summer cruiser and late nite street racer.
I have a guide to do this on my comp if you want to send me a PM but if you do a search on here you should find it, thats where I got it.

Re: getting the rest of ac out

It's not that hard just time consuming. When I did mine I took out the dash myself which took the longest because I wanted it out without breaking anything. I had a friend help me put it back in and it only took about 2 hrs.
Just be paitient and don't rush it.

The only reason I got rid of it is because I live in North Dakota and our summers don't get hot enough for A/C(never used it anyway). I also don't drive my camaro in the winter so I don't need heat. Also don't get caught in the rain, your windows will fog up and you won't be able to do anything about it.

I will see if I can get some engine pics, I don't have a digital camera so it might take a few days to borrow one.

Here are some pics I took during the removal of the dashhttp://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=386183

Re: getting the rest of ac out

Ohio can get cold. But you live in Fargo ND and you deleted the HVAC, you are hard core.
I can take some more detailed pics of my engine bay and Email them to you if you would like.
Its alot of work its true but its amazing how much room this frees up and I will have to give it a few days since my car has been on jackstands for 2 months but my front end has raised up almost an inch due to the weight loss. I deleted some other things too but alot of it was HVAC.

It's not to bad, the hardest part is getting the bolt in back of the compressor out that is holding the line to back.
